Usability Study

User Journey Map

Usability Study

Sprouting plants, increasing in size.

We conducted  an unmoderated usability study. Five participants completed the flower ordering task on their own using a live prototype. Each participant also completed a questionnaire describing their experience. The study took no more than 20 minutes for each participants to complete from start to finish.

Pain Points

User Journey Map

Usability Study

Three wooden faces placed on a table. One happy, one neutral, one sad.

  • "How do I return to the home page after placing my order? I want to see the icon more prominently placed.”
  • “I’d like to see my delivery date more prominent on the confirmation page. I don’t want to hunt for it.”
  • “I’d like to see better hierarchy between the sub headers and body copy. Also, the body copy can be bigger.”
  • “I want to see the pictures smaller on the home page so that I do not have have to scroll to see everything.”

IMPACT

“I love knowing how my flowers are sourced.
We try to buy organic, fair trade whenever possible. Supporting an independent, local florist is a great bonus. It’s so important to shop locally and support our community!”

LESSONS LEARNED

Although a clean, intelligent layout and user-centric design are tantamount to quality UX, the feature that made this app shine was its commitment to the environment and its support of both the floral farmers and the local florists.
