The 2023 Challenge called for innovative designs of a proposed Graphical User Interface (GUI) aimed at assisting traffic managers—such as those in TMCs and NTMSs—with performing their duties more efficiently. The goal was to create a streamlined, modern interface that reduces the need for extensive user training compared to existing systems. The TFM-AID Challenge focused on developing an integrated display tailored to assist traffic managers in managing Airspace Flow Program (AFP) Traffic Management Initiative (TMI) scenarios. Five finalist teams were chosen to present their solutions at the Forum, competing for a first-place prize of $25,000.
Team CSU East Bay made it into the finals in the FAA TFM-AID Competition! We presented our prototype live on stage at the FAA MITRE Center in McLean, VA on June 28-29th, 2023.
