Firefly Earrings

My first experience with fireflies was while visiting relatives in  Pennsylvania. I'd never seen them in California before and found myself  running through the tall grass at dusk, just as excited as my children  were, to catch the little bugs in jars. When creating these earrings, I  wanted to convey the same whimsy and magic that I had experienced in the  grassy lot, long ago. Although circuitry was important to make it glow,  I wanted the most visible part to be more organic, so I chose wood. The  laser cutter was the perfect solution to emboss and cut, as it kept the  natural texture and hue of the wood. I hope these earrings bring a  little joy to everyone who wears them.
